This page is designed to give independent views freely given by people I have trained. Before coming to me some had spent large amounts of money and been unsuccessful through no fault of there own.

Thanks to David I am now an ADI. I was previously a self employed Owner taxi driver clocking on average 1200 miles per week. I decided to make enquiries about training as a driving instructor and phoned Companies in England and N.Ireland, once I spoke to David I knew I had found the right person, unlike the others, he told me step by step what was involved and also made me aware of how difficult it was, especially ADI part 3 exam. I knew from how he spoke to me he was genuine and talked straight letting me know the pro's and the con's, I looked no further. I thought before training I was a great driver, little did I know. Now I can drive correctly and having passed all 3 parts I can teach people to drive correctly. I operate in Newry as DC School of Motoring, this year so far, 2006 my pass rate is 92%. David's past career as an examiner is invaluable in his training to potential driving instructors, it has also proved invaluable to me and to the pupils I teach. Twelve months on a trainee licence, I paid over £2000 for the training & franchise fee from a well known training school, failed all three attempts at part three. "HOLD ON A MINUTE!! SOMETHING WAS WRONG!!" Picked up the phone to "Dave", "Hello Mate", was the reply. Within a few minutes of speaking with him I knew what a fool I had been. After my first hour with Dave in the car, I knew what it was going to take to pass the exam. Eight months later, I'm now an A.D.I. I had trained to become an ADI with two other well established Belfast driving schools. My training felt very clinical with these schools. It seemed to me that they were only in it for a profit. My training was never fully explained. I was then recommended to visit with David Craig. What a difference. I began my training with David and was successful on my first attempt at all parts of my ADI exams, completing the entire course within 6 months. David's style of training was excellent. He was patient and concise. He explained everything in an easy and understandable way. This lead to my success with my ADI exams. The quality of instruction that I received from David was excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to hopeful PDI's who really want to succeed in their quest to have a career as an ADI.

I had been a professional driver for many years and a member of the Institute of Advanced motorists since 1977 holding a grade 1-pass certificate. I considered myself a competent driver and my ambition was to qualify as an approved driving instructor. I successfully passed parts 1 and 2 of the ADI tests and considered I would benefit from professional tuition, which would enable me to take part 3. I undertook a course and paid fees in excess of £800.00. After taking the test I was disappointed to learn I had failed.

I subsequently contacted David Craig and after my initial telephone conversation I quickly realised that the previous part 3 training was totally inadequate. I was never instructed in what I now know were key areas of the part 3 test and I now consider are the essential elements of being a good driving instructor. After my first lesson with David I became fully aware of what was required and after a few weeks of tuition I applied for and successfully passed the part 3 test.

I consider that after my previous experience and at considerable expense it is vital that candidates are fully prepared for the test. It is therefor important to choose a reputable trainer who has the experience and ability and in this context I would have no hesitation in recommending David for ADI training.
